The Dynamic Archive

Collaborative work and networking have become increasingly important practices in the arts and design in recent years. A university of the arts is predestined to be a source of inspiration for testing and experimenting with these techniques. The iteratively implemented web application The Dynamic Archive represents a first concrete result of this development: The online platform with open source logic gathers artistic principles, tools, methods and notations from artists and designers of the HfK (students, teachers and graduates) and invited guests, who make them available for use, copying and versioning. New versions are also uploaded to the platform.

The research project The Dynamic Archive initiates a process of exchange and discussion about collaborative work on various levels. In addition to the online platform, The Dynamic Archive includes other exciting formats: the Artist in Residence Programme, lecture series on various topics (notions, collaborative processes in media art and performance art, Internet), workshops for artists, publications and conferences.
The archive also participates in exhibitions and biennials. In the future, an incubator programme in cooperation with designers and Bremen companies is planned.
