Schließlich muß auch noch auf die Ausstellungsgruppe „Das werbewirksame Inserat“ hingewiesen werden. Prof. Dr. Rudolf Seyffert, Köln, ist der Orga nisator dieser Abteilung. Trotzdem der Schrei ber selbst an einer der vorbereitenden Bespre chungen für diese Ausstellungsgruppe teilge nommen hat, und trotzdem er selbst als Mit arbeiter im Katalog genannt wird, muß gerade diese Ausstellungsgruppe als völlig verfehlt an gesprochen werden; denn dem Fachmann wird hier absolut nichts Neues vorgefiihrt, noch wer den ihm neue Wege gezeigt, und für den Laien ist die ganze Art der Darstellung unverständ lich. Vor allen Dingen ist es unmöglich, während eines kurzen Ausstellungsrundganges die we sentlichen Gesichtspunkte dieser Schau zu er fassen. Sehr gut gelungen sind auch die Ausstellun gen des Deutschen Druckfarben-Yerbandes; die Stein- und Offset-Druckereien Deutschlands beweisen in ihrer Sonderschau ebenso wie die Cliemigraphischen Anstalten, Kupfer- undTief- the catalogue as one of the participators, yet he cannot refrain from saying that precisely this group must be regarded as an utter failure; for the expert sees absolutely notliing new, nor even anv new proposals, and the whole manner of presentation is such that no layman can un- derstand it. Above all, it is impossible in the course of a desultory visit to comprehend the essential point of view which underlies the whole exhibit. Very successful indeed are the exhibits of the German Druckfarben Verband (League of Ger man Printing-Color Makers) and the Lithogra phie and Offset Printing works of Germany as well as the Chemigraphie Institutes, and those devoted to printing from copperplate or accor- ding to the new Tiefdruck or deep-printing pro- cess, prove that their productions are fully up to the international level. The type-founders liave imparted an explanatory character to their exhibit, in that they have devoted special space to each different kind of type, srfch as black-letter, Schwabach, Gothic or German type, Mediaeval, Roman, Italic and Doric.
