Die Kunst für Alle
Die Kunst für Alle
‘Die Kunst für Alle‘ was first published in 1885 by the Bruckmann Verlag in Munich. As it was edited by the painter and art critic Friedrich Pecht, it for decades was one of the largest and most influential German language art journals. Through the use of the new media – photography – a main focus lay on the education of a broad audience in the field of art.
In 1899/1900 ‘Die Kunst für Alle” was united with ‘Die Kunst’ – a further art journal from Munich – and published with the new name ‘Die Kunst. Monatsheft für freie und angewandte Kunst’. Pecht remained publisher, and Fritz Schwartz (‘Freie Kunst’) and Hugo Bruckmann (‘Angewandte Kunst’) were the editors in charge.
The digitized ‘Kunst für Alle’ has kindly been provided by the Art Library of the National Museums in Berlin. The website presentation is created and hosted in Heidelberg.
