recensio.artium

recensio.artium aggregates reviews of art historical literature in arthistoricum.net.

Through recensio.artium

  • editors can improve the visibility and findability of their art historical journals,
  • art historians can publish their reviews free of charge online, and
  • scholars can search the full text of – both print and online – reviews of art historical literature in one database.

All reviews on recensio.artium receive citable DOIs (Digital Object Identifiers) and are enriched with metadata on the reviewed text. The open access platform also aims at making reviews more easily accessible through national and international databases.

recensio.artium is part of arthistoricum.net and is managed by Heidelberg University Library. The concept and the software for the review platform have been developed by the Bavarian State Library (BSB), the University of Cologne and the Leibniz Institute of European History (IEG) Mainz for recensio.net –review platform for European history and have been adapted for arthistoricum.net.

An advanced search function provides users the option to cross search the four review publication platforms – recensio.artium, recension.net, recensio.regio and recension.antiquitatis – with one search.

If you are an editor of an art historical journal and want to make your reviews more easily accessible, or if you want to publish your reviews on art historical literature online, then contact us.
