Kunsthistorisches Institut in Florenz

The Kunsthistorisches Institut in Florenz (KHI Florence) is one of the oldest institutions for the study of the history of art and architecture in Italy and has been part of the Max Planck Society since 2002. The KHI Florence is home to research projects ranging from late antiquity to modernity. It sees itself as a forum for international and interdisciplinary scientific exchange. With the institute's own library, the associated photo library - which is one of the most extensive in the world on Italian art history - and an extensive programme of academic events, the institute aims to promote research into Italian art and architectural history in its European, Mediterranean and global contexts.
The KHI Florence is committed to the open access publication of the Institute's own research findings in order to make them quickly and easily accessible to the international public.
