Exhibitions at the 'Glaspalast' in Munich

These digitized reproductions of the exhibition catalogues from 1869 to 1931 document the annual exhibitions in Munich and the international art shows taking place at the ‘Glaspalast’ in Munich, which was established 1854 and destroyed by a fire 1931.

Our virtual collection mirrors the holdings of the Monacensia Library of the Public Library of Munich and the Library of the Zentralinstitut für Kunstgeschichte  and covers 14,000 pages including illustrations. Many of the catalogues show different editions and print runs mostly enriched by additional exhibits and information. On arthistoricum.net and the Homepage of the Bavarian State Library the most extensive edition of each of the all in all 46 exhibitions is available.

The realization of this digitalization project is accomplished in context with the DFG supported arthistoricum.net  in a cooperation between the Library of the Zentralinstitut für Kunstgeschichte in Munich, the Bavarian State Library and the Monacensia Library of the Public Library of Munich.
