Primary sources on arthistoricum.net provides digitized historical text collections of particular importance for our discipline.
While the broad bibliographic access to digitized literature is provided within our Search area, we are dealing here, in close connection to academic research and education, with the co-operative production of digital resources according to our thematic guidelines defined specifically for arthistoricum.net.’
The main focus is on historical art magazines and exhibition catalogues concerning German art from the beginning of the 19th century to the middle of the 20th century. On the basis of a digitization-project of Heidelberg University Library a further emphasis is on treatises on architecture and garden architecture from late 15th to early 19th century as well as art historical primary sources from the 17th to the early 20th century. Due to their rarity and state of conservation these primary resources, which are of great importance for a multiplicity of researches, are so far not easily accessible. The digitalized data can be found under the following entry points “digital monographs”, “digital journals” "material from archives" and “digital image collections”. Within these categories the data on offer is arranged in alphabetical order.
